Daily Bible Study Index

Part of this site is to log my thoughts and considerations in my daily Bible Study. I’ve seen many methods where one can study the entire scripture in a year but one I like best is offered by OneYearBibleOnline.com. One reason for this is that not only do you read portions from the Old and New Testament but you are exposed to a Psalm and a verse or two from Proverbs. Each day I read via this method it was profound how many times Scripture spoke to me that stuck throughout my memory – one day it may be a proverb… another day it may be the Psalm, and what a treasure trove!

One of my laments from my Catholic upbringing was that we were never encouraged to read the Bible… We all knew and were told Bible stories but we never read them for ourselves. Once I started reading it, I saw that what was spoken in Scripture was not necessarily hat was taught from the pulpit, from my Catholic grammar school experience, not my Catholic High school experience.

I encourage you, brothers and sisters, Catholic or otherwise, to join me in this journey and see what God has in store and in mind for you. This is his Word. It is infallible, inerrant, and good for all things, as Paul tells his son in the faith, Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:16, Scripture is “useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

To borrow a phrase our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer as he spoke to the lame beggar, “Take up your book and read!”
